Golden Milk Recipe – A Delicious, Non-Dairy Way to Get Your Daily Turmeric & More

“Golden Milk” is a beautiful, tasty, and incredibly healthy drink especially suitable for drinking in the evening, and the benefits are outstanding, as seen below.* What's more, the benefits of curcumin are increased 1000 times when combined with black pepper, due to the piperine, the pungent property of the black pepper.
Step 1 – Turmeric Paste
- 1/4 cup of turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground pepper (I grind it fresh)
- 1/2 cup of filtered water
Mix all ingredients in a small cooking pot and stir well. Turn the heat to a medium and mix constantly until the mixture becomes a thick paste. It does not take a long time, so do not leave the stove. Let the mixture cool off, and then keep it in a small, covered jar in the refrigerator. I usually make it every week or two. It will last at least two weeks.
Step 2 – Golden Milk
- 1 cup of almond milk (hemp milk or coconut milk are also a good option)
- 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
- 1/4 (or more) teaspoon of turmeric paste — I use about 1 teaspoon or more
- Raw honey (optional — you can also use maple syrup, date sugar, stevia; I don't use any sweetener)
Mix all ingredients in a cooking pot, except the honey. Turn the heat to medium. While you are heating the mixture, you must stir constantly and do not let it boil. Add honey according to your taste.

Sometimes I'll sprinkle in some cinnamon in Step 2 and perhaps some cayenne and/or ginger powder to give it more pizzazz and nutritional heftiness.
Sometimes I will add in an organic, raw miso paste at the end to bolster the nutritional benefits even more. I always have many different kinds of miso on hand in my refrigerator. In some form or another, I have some daily.
Finally, serving it attractively, as pictured in this photo above, makes it taste even more delicious!
